Questions about the DJ Equipment
Return to Contents
- What kind of DJ equipment does QE use?
QE uses several top manufacturers in the Professional Audio equipment world, such as:
Denon
Dual CD deck – Denon 9000
Stanton
RM.406 Mixer
QSC
dbx
EV
JBL speakers and crossover
Carver
Furman
QE is all about Quality, we use the best in the industry so we can sound the best for you and your guests. Why pay for less?
- With all that high quality equipment, how much of it is rented? You can't own it all!
Actually, all our equipment is owned and operated by the company! Our DJ rig is valued at over $25k and we take approximately $25k in music to every function; making our DJ rig one of the most expensive in Canada as well.
We don't rent anything at all, which keeps our costs as low as possible for you, our customer. In fact, a lot of the equipment we use is special ordered and couldn't be rented anywheres in Western Canada!
We maintain a hgh quality standard of excellence and that ensures that breakdowns are minimal and our customers receive the best optimal audio and visual experience.
- How “big” is your DJ rig?
The QE DJ rig when used with all four speakers, has 3200 speaker watts and up to 4400 amplifier watts at 8ohms stereo.
When all four speakers are used, the speakers stand higher than 6' high.
The QE DJ system when combined with the LightQuest package; is a literal mobile night club coming to YOUR event!
To give you an idea, when we setup in Calgary we turn the venue into the 5th largest nightclub in the city!
- That’s a really BIG DJ rig, won’t it be too loud for our small group?
Actually, we keep the volume to a very reasonable level. When you and your guests are ready for the night club sound, we can turn it up then. Until then, it sounds phenomenal when kept at a low volume.
Remember, you can always keep a big system turned down and have it sound awesome however a small system won’t give you the musical quality anywhere near the same when turned up.
- How much space do you need to setup in?
Hard to believe, but we’ve setup in the back of our van, in a closet, and in a stairwell at the Devonian Gardens. We can take up a minimal amount of space and are very versatile in how we setup.
- How many tables do you need to setup with?
We prefer to have at least one eight foot table, with two tables being optimal for setup.
- What does the QE DJ rig look like when setup?
A picture of the DJ rig can be found here.
- Does QE have backup equipment?
Yes, we have backup equipment kept at our office in case of an equipment failure.
All members of the CDJA must have backup equipment available for use; though it is not required to be brought to the function.
